Group Accommodation

Popular with walkers, cyclists, canoeist, climbers and adventurers alike, Bassenthwaite Parish Room makes a perfect base for groups who want to be in the heart of the Lake District, without blowing the budget. See our Local Information section for ideas for places to visit.

The Parish Room has fantastic self-catering facilities. Or, if you don’t want to cook, the Sun Inn is just a 5-minute walk away and will cater for groups, but you do need to book, especially in high season.

The main hall offers a large communal area that doubles up as a sleeping space for up to 30 people. The upstairs meeting room is equipped with a large comfy sofa, extending table, and sink and may be used as a cosy TV lounge. Alternatively, this room can be used as a sleeping area for up to 10, if you need to separate the sexes or as a leader/teacher sleeping area. The Parish Room offers separate bathroom facilities downstairs and upstairs there is a further toilet and shower. A lift ensures all areas of the Parish Room are accessible.

Bassenthwaite Parish Room is not a purpose-built hostel and as such you will need to bring with you your own camp bed/airbed and sleeping bag. However, it is not as basic as a camping barn. It is a warm, well-heated, well-equipped, comfortable space with modern facilities, so more like Group Glamping – excellent budget accommodation for groups wishing to visit this gorgeous corner of Cumbria.

See our Hall Hire charges for group accommodation rates. Weekend stays are for a minimum of 2 nights, unless there is last minute availability. Bank holiday stays are for a minimum of 3 nights. To secure the Parish Room for group accommodation, we require a £100 non-refundable deposit within 14 days of your provisional booking. The balance is then due 1 month before arrival.
To discuss your booking contact Louise (our bookings secretary) on 07786434411 or bookbassenthwaiteparishroom@gmail.com

Please note, we do not accept hen or stag groups at the Parish Room.
